Implementare SSL sul proprio sito, e fornire quindi ai propri utenti un accesso https protetto da crittografia, è oggi di fondamentale importanza per qualsiasi progetto "serio" sul web.

Per attivarlo, i nostri utenti di piani hosting shared (condiviso) Linux devono procedere come specificato:


Piano hosting Linux Basic
Questo piano NON permette la gestione di protocolli SSL; è necessario quindi effettuare l'upgrade al piano Linux Starter o Linux Pro



Piani hosting Linux Starter e Linux Pro 
Su questi piani viene attivato di default, automaticamente e gratuitamente un certificato SSL di tipo DV.
L'utente non deve fare nulla, se non verificare che il proprio sia realizzato correttamente per la gestione del protocollo HTTP: a questo proposito, vedasi anche: Perché il mio sito non ha il lucchetto verde?



E se il certificato di tipo DV non basta?

I certificati DV soddisfano le necessità base di sicurezza di un sito, ma non contribuiscono certo a costruire nell'utente quella fiducia che invece è data da altri certificati SSL, di caratteristiche superiori.
Ad esempio, se il tuo sito ospita un servizio ecommerce, dovresti prendere in seria considerazione di dotarlo di un certificato SSL di tipo EV o almeno di tipo OV.
