Important changes to .PL domain registration policies were announced by the .PL registry, and will take effect on January 1, 2025.
These changes are part of the NIS2 Directive.
The .PL registry has introduced stricter requirements for registrant data verification to align with the NIS2 Directive.
While further clarification from the registry is pending, the changes will require all registrant data for .PL domains to be accurate and verified. Non-compliance could result in fines for registrars and registrants, and penalties could include:
- 200 PLN per instance of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- 100 PLN per day for delays in resolving data verification issues.
- Fines of up to 5000 PLN for broader verification failures.
As we work to clarify the requirements, please be aware that new .PL registrations, incoming transfers, and updates may need to be temporarily suspended starting January 2025.
This step may be necessary to ensure compliance and avoid penalties. Existing .PL domain renewals remain unaffected at this time.
To support this transition, we recommend you ensure the registrant data associated with your .PL domains is accurate and complete.
